Jadon Sancho has named a Manchester United player as the most skilful he has ever played with as rumours of an Old Trafford move are reignited.
The Red Devils are going to approach Borussia Dortmund with a first and final offer of £90m for the forward.
It will be a major turning point in talks which have been ongoing throughout the summer, with United “agreeing” personal terms for the 20-year-old.
But footage has emerged which suggests that Sancho would be playing alongside a star he admires most if he makes the Old Trafford move.
In an interview with Pro: Direct Soccer, the Englishman is asked for the most skilful player he has shared the pitch with.
After a few seconds’ thought, he simply replies: “Marcus Rashford.”
United’s No.10 scored 22 goals in the 2019/20 campaign as part of a lethal front three with Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.
And the 22-year-old grabbed the first goal for the current season in the Premier League side’s 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Luton.
Sancho has been able to share the pitch with the forward over the last three years on the international stage as they both represent England.
The 20-year-old has been at Dortmund for three seasons, joining from Manchester City ’s academy in 2017.
And he has gone to succeed with the German side, scoring 35 goals in more than 100 appearances – success that has seen United ask about his availability.
But they have been challenged by the Westfalenstadion side, with their manager insisting he would be at the club for the 2020/21 season.
"We need him, no question," head coach Lucien Favre told Keystone-SDA earlier this month.
"Everyone was happy that he stayed.
"We don't need to talk long about its qualities – they are enormous. He scores and sets up a lot of goals and can often make all the difference.
"But there are some details that Sancho needs to improve. That is quite normal for a 20-year-old."
