Paul Pogba was chauffeured into Manchester United's Carrington training complex on Monday ahead of the squad's journey down to London on New Year's Eve.
The French man's van is driven by his minder.
The midfielder missed United's trip to Burnley on Saturday because he was not ready to play two games in three days after a prolonged spell out with a foot injury.
"He's been out for a long while and he didn't feel right," Solskjaer said of Pogba's absence in Lancashire. "He reacted to that one (the 4-1 win against Newcastle), we'll just have to take our time and get him ready for next time.
"He wasn't ready today, because he's not really done too many games and he's had two in a few days and he just needed another day's recovery."
Pogba is expected to be in contention to feature at the Emirates on New Year's Day, with Scott McTominay set to miss out due to a knee problem the Scot sustained against Newcastle on Boxing Day.
