Raul Jimenez told 'leave Wolves now' amid Man Utd and Liverpool transfer links

Raul Jimenez has been told he must leave Wolves this summer after being linked with interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.

Jimenez had an impressive campaign for Wolves, scoring 17 goals in the Premier League and 10 in the Europa League, as well as posting 10 assists in all competitions.

The 29-year-old Mexico striker could have had the chance to showcase his talents on club football's biggest stage next season had Wolves won the Europa League.

But their elimination at the hands of Sevilla in this week's quarter-finals meant they missed out on a Champions League place.

Wolves lost 1-0 to the La Liga side after Jimenez saw his 13th-minute penalty saved.

And now Mexican football expert Sergio Dipp has told Jimenez it's time for him to leave Molineux for a bigger team.

"Leave Wolverhampton now," Dipp wrote for ESPN, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.

"The best thing Raul Jimenez can do is change of scene. The English League has been very good for him, but the team has been too small for him.

He added: "He should have a thirst for revenge and a desire to demonstrate at the highest level, because in May he will turn 30 and naturally the window will be closing.

"So he has to take advantage of the fact that he is coming off the best season of his career."

Jimenez has scored an impressive 44 goals in 99 matches for Wolves, registering 18 assists in that time.

The striker was signed Benfica in 2018 after four years with the Portuguese side, turning what was originally a loan move into a permanent deal in April last year.

As a result of his fine form, Jimenez has been constantly linked with a move away from Molineux, with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool both having been credited with an interest.

His teammate Adama Traore has also been linked with Liverpool after he also enjoyed an impressive season.
