Manchester United will bide their time in pursuit of Jadon Sancho as they wait for Borussia Dortmund to lower their £100m asking price.
The English wonderkid has long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford having previously played for Manchester City.
But the German side are keen to maximise their profits having signed the 20-year-old for £10m.
Dortmund are likely to have a host of buyers interested in Sancho but have not received any formal offers.
Chelsea and Real Madrid are both understood to be interested in the forward, while City are also considering a bid to bring him back to the Etihad.
It means United risk losing out on a player whom they have admired from a far for sometime, reports the Daily Mail.
But they are reluctant to smash their transfer record on a player, especially given the current financial climate.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has already said that a realistic view needs to be taken to recruitment as football emerges from the coronavirus pandemic.
