Man utd news update live:
Manchester United have reportedly rejected a €15m offer from Roma to make Chris Smalling’s transfer permanent.
The English defender has impressed at his new club during the loan spell and the Giallorossi are trying to tie him down on a permanent deal in the Italian capital.
But the negotiations will continue as Manchester United’s valuation wasn’t matched by Roma.
The Daily Mail reports that the Red Devils are asking for €20m to complete the deal.
Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira claims that Roma are trying to convince Manchester United with an offer of €12m plus €3m bonuses, but it seems like they need to put more money on the table to tempt the English club into selling the defender.
The defender has played seven matches in the League this season and Roma have kept a clean sheet in four of them, whilst Smalling proved to be decisive also against Napoli last weekend – when he cleared an attempt from Giovanni Di Lorenzo off the line.
