Manchester United's Sancho hopes 'could hinge on Dortmund signing Memphis Depay'

Memphis Depay could have a major part to play in Manchester United's quest to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Lyon winger Depay, who played for United between 2015 and 2017, is wanted by Dortmund.

As reported by The Sun, Dortmund may be more willing to sell Sancho if they are able to bring in Depay.

When he was at United Depay struggled to make much of an impact - he scored just seven goals in 53 appearances.


However, he has fared rather better for Lyon, scoring 14 goals this season, while he has also impressed on the international stage for Holland over the past couple of years.

Dortmund are demanding £100million for Sancho, but United are unlikely to pay such a figure.

Sancho enjoyed a superb season which saw him score 20 goals and provide the same amount of assists.

The England international's contract at Dortmund runs until the summer of 2022, but he could well be on the move before then.
