Manchester United are set to make Harry Maguire their third signing of the summer after agreeing a world-record deal with Leicester City, according to reports.
Both the Red Devils and Manchester City have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old and have seen £70m bids rejected.
However, the Sun now reports that United have beaten their local rivals to the England international's signature after agreeing a £80m transfer with the Foxes.
If the move is completed, it will see the former Hull City man become the most expensive defender in history, with the total sum expected to surpass the £75m that Liverpool payed for Virgil van Dijk last year.
According to the publication, the deal will see United pay Leicester £60m up front, with the remainder of the sum coming in add-ons.
It is also claimed that Maguire will undergo his medical with the Premier League giants on Monday and is now set to fly up to Manchester.
Maguire would become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's third signing, following Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.
